Dance, Drama, and Delicious Dinners

Another busy week = another busy blog!
Theatre and television, dance and of course drama, here’s what I’ve been up to…
As I mentioned last week, I attended the press night of Di, Viv and Rose to support my long time friend, the brilliant Tamsin Outhwaite, who was, of course, brilliant! As was the whole production and the other performances, so congratulations to all involved.

Another night at the theatre was spent at Sadlers Wells watching The Associates, a contemporary dance show comprised of three sections by three wonderful choreoghraphers, Hofesh Schecter, Kate Prince, and the highlight of the night for me, Crystal Pite. Her piece was nothing short of sensational, uplifting, and beautiful.
On a continuing dance theme, you can still sign up for the Danceathon for Cominc Relief… http://www.rednoseday.com/tv-events-and-news/danceathon?gclid=CjwKEAiA0uGmBRDwj7mE1v-LlCYSJADxH16OYumizmK1JGme4In28rmMwonrh_zAxcKcoIDcZkYNbBoCR8jw_wcB and if you need any more information on it, here I am chatting away on Good Morning Britain about it! Oh and watch out for a special impromptu appearance from my Alana, getting unwittingly caught on camera not once, but four times…! http://www.itv.com/goodmorningbritain/entertainment/arlene-phillips-charity-dancethon

I attended a very special private screening for Glad all Over, a documentary all about the Dave Clark Five, which was so fascinating. Having worked with Dave many. many years ago on his musical Time, it’s always such a treat to re live some of those old memories.
I had a wonderful day with my dear friend CJay at her beautiful home in Dorset, walking and talking, and of course eating the most delicious food. I’ll get back on the diet one day I promise, but who can resist the culinary delights of the Pig on the Beach!
I had a bit of a crazy evening, as I decided to pack in filming a TV interview and organising a dinner meeting into one night, and of course in the land of showbiz, nothing seems to ever go as planned! To start with, my car was late to take me to Mel and Sue, where I was talking about the Danceathon, and some of my other upcoming projects. Having already been up at 5:30am to make it over to ITV for Good Morning Britain, my nerves were not at their sturdiest by this hour, so by the time I reached the studio, only to find the recording was running late, I was a little bit too close to crazy knowing everyone would be waiting outside my house while I was stuck on the other side of London! Luck was clearly on my side however, and I made it to the meeting with only a “tiny” plus time of half an hour, and I got to meet Katherine Grainger AND hold her gold medal, and all was right with the world again, and of course you can see how much I love Mel and Sue here… https://www.itv.com/itvplayer/mel-and-sue/series-1/episode-20

Speaking of the crazy world of showbiz, I popped in for a couple of hours to help out the truly enigmatic Gerard McCarthy with his new one man show, Cat, The Musical. Starring “Dave, an cast member of the original production of Cats, who was sacked on opening night… and needless to say, he was not a happy pussy” The show is brilliant, hilarious, and very, very naughty! Playing for two weeks in Belfast at the end of February, I will keep you posted on it’s hopeful West End transfer… You can follow Dave on Twitter here https://twitter.com/Dave_TheCat
I’m so happy I can finally reveal what I’ve been up to in Prague… yes it’s the new GTech commercial! We had such a blast filming this, and I really hope you all enjoy it… http://www.gtech.co.uk/break-free
Finally, I’m sure the last place anyone expected me to turn up was on Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit on the Side… but I did! As well as it being the divine Emma Willis’ last night, it was also the eviction of Miami mama Cami Li, clearly a force to be reckoned with! It was lovely to catch up with Nadia, and despite not making it home till 1am, I had a fantastic time – and well done Miss Katie Price!
