Just a Quickie

After spending the past week in a bubble of top secret filming, I think maybe for the first time EVER I only have one little bit of news to share with you!

However, it’s definitely worth a post, being that it was only my amazing night at the O2…

Off I went with the family to see the amazing Spandau Ballet, party made up of dearest family friend drummer John Keeble, who we lived next door to for many, many years. His wife Flea and daughter Jaime were there and made the evening all the more special, be it that we’re all rarely in one place together these days, and it brought back so many happy memories.

So here we all are…

And that’s all folks!

I’ll be back as soon as I can to reveal what this week’s been all about… So until then stay happy, healthy and live every day to the fullest

And

And We Keep On Dancing

I’ve been so busy dancing away this past couple of weeks that once again my blog is jam packed!
I am having the time of my life dancing and creating a piece with the heavenly Edward Watson of the Royal Ballet, who is – as I have mentioned many times – is a true dance god. I also got to see him perform alongside the divine Natalia Osipova at Russian Icons Gala, held at the Coliseum, followed by a wonderful dinner at the Savoy. A truly glamorous and sparkling affair.

Did anyone catch me on The Nation’s Fav 70s No.1’s? If not check it out on ITV player here https://www.itv.com/itvplayer/the-nation-s-favourite-70s-number-one/series-1/episode-1-the-nation-s-favourite-70s-number-one
I had a fabulous time in the studio on Radio 4 Loose Ends with a live studio audience that you can catch up with here http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b054gxpj
Featuring myself, Arthur Smith, David Mitchell, Sandi Toksvig, Yasmin Evans, John Shuttleworth, Spoek Mathambo and Fantasma!
I hope you all got a chance to celebrate international Women’s Day last Sunday? It’s amazing the things women can achieve, and when we work together as a team all the more so! Love and support the women around you, you never know when you might need some love and strength in return.

So I got my disco on and headed down to the Roundhouse in honour of Save the Children, it was 70’s night and I intended to burn up the dancefloor! Save the Children is an amazing charity I am so proud to have worked with on numerous campaigns, and it was a real honour to be there and share in such an amazing evening to help raise funds. Amongst the funky bunch was actress and timeless beauty Helena Bonham Carter, the utterly gorgeous Dominic West, and fashion guru Mary Portas. It was Thursday Night Fever for sure!
Newsflash! I am so happy to announce I am going to be the Creative Director of JUDY! You can read all about it and get your tickets here http://www.atgtickets.com/shows/judy-the-judy-garland-story/edinburgh-playhouse/
Finally, the big day arrived and it was time to dance for Comic Relief! We all headed off to Wembley, along with 2000 others and well and truly got our groove on! It was such an incredible day, with the most amazing energy all around. You can see me and all my dancing buddies below

Something for your Sunday

Hello again after another crazy couple of weeks!
I’ve been a busy bee, running, dancing, hopping and yes even spinning around London and a little bit of Germany thrown in for good measure!
I’ll start with my wonderful Valentines day treat to see Atomos by Wayne Mcgregor and Anish Kapoor at Sadlers Wells. It was beautiful and vibrant, and made all the more wonderful because I got to share it with my parter, which as some of you may know is a bit of a rarity!
I had a fabulous time at the Roundhouse with Penny Woolcock for an upcoming project called The Only Place I Can Breathe, which I will tell you more about as soon as I can…
I am also beyond thrilled to announce that I’m working on a dance project with the divine Ed Watson, principal dancer and icon of the Royal Ballet. It’s going to be so exciting getting to create something new and different with a dancer who can move in ways I have truly never seen.
I had a great morning at the BBC for their Get Creative launch catching up with faces old and new. I’m always happy to see dance being championed, and you can bet your life I’ll be there cheering along! You can check it out and get involved here http://www.bbc.co.uk/arts/sections/get-creative
I was so lucky to be invited to a special tasting dinner at the Westbury Hotel, which somehow I also managed to get my partner to come along to – that’s twice in one week! As you can see from my pictures, it was beautifully presented, and tasted like little bites of heaven. I will say though, I lost count after roundabout the fifth course and just sort of melted into a food coma! It was perfection all round.

Make sure you book into the Dance UK conference, I’ll be compering at the launch with the amazing Ashley Banjo on Thursday 9th April to open the amazing programme of events! For more info here http://www.danceuk.org/conference/
I’ve just got back from a few days in Germany working with the new cast of Starlight Express, I swear they just keep on getting more and more talented every year!
I’m totally proud to say I rocked my first spinning class this week, no easy feat I can tell you with my knees, but nonetheless I powered through to sweaty glory.

Finally, a couple of familiar faces I bumped into this week, the enigmatic Judge Rinder and the angelic Jaymi Hemsley from Union J, both firm family favourites in the Phillips house.

I’ll be back in a few days with more glamorous gossip, so until then I’ll leave you with my new blog sign off I’m calling Arlene’s Advice…
This week is to make the most of every day!
