One For My Baby, and One For The Road

Hello!

So at least this week I have some things to report that aren’t about Monty Python or Brazouka… Sort of…

After getting Brazouka in Edinburgh up and running, I managed to escape for a mini break with, er, Eric Idle! Ok so I said almost not Python related…

I was welcomed to his beautiful home in the South of France along with my partner for a few days of drinking and dining, wonderful walks in the french countryside and of course laughs a plenty. We relived the madness of the past few months, and maybe even came up with a few ideas of our own, but you’ll just have to wait and see about that…!

On my return it was straight into rehearsals for Brazouka playing in Wimbledon for one week only before heading off on the rest of the world tour. It was such an emotional week, full of intense excitement and of course nerves a plenty, was London ready for what we had to offer? I can certainly say that the standing ovations every night sure put our nerves to rest, and we had an truly incredible week. It was so sad to say goodbye to everyone as they headed off to South Africa, and in the not too distant future Australia’s Gold Coast.

It’s been a long few days though as I’ve been up super early discussing the weeks events on The Wright Stuff. Which if you missed you can catch up on here… http://www.channel5.com/shows/the-wright-stuff/episodes AP on 8th-12th Sept

I had a hilarious day filming in Southport with the one and only Len Goodman, which although I can’t reveal too much about yet, I can share with you some of the beautiful pictures I took of my surroundings.

It was my Alana’s birthday so we celebrated with a delicious Sunday lunch at one of our favourite restaurants La Petite Maison. It’s a delightful southern french restaurant in Mayfair that makes the most delicately flavoured dishes that leave you feeling like you could float home, despite the divine desserts we ordered of strawberry and white chocolate tiramisu and french toast with honeycomb ice cream. It was absolute perfection.

In other news… you can read my article My Las Vegas Secrets http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destinations/northamerica/usa/lasvegas/11051444/Arlene-Phillipss-Las-Vegas-My-Kind-of-Town.html

You can also watch my ice bucket challenge for Alzheimer’s Society, and you can still text DMYS to 70070 to donate just £3

I managed to grab a couple of days in the country over the weekend between rehearsal days, and I made an amazing discovery… Lily’s Marshmallows! The are heaven in a bite, maybe not so heavenly for the hips though! https://www.facebook.com/lillypillycakes

And now for a final bit of fun, have you ever seen a theatre fill up this fast? https://vine.co/v/MVKwE23OOtr Thanks Starlight Express Germany, looking good!

Make sure you check back later in the week to hear all about my adventures in Antwerp, the Soul Boys of the Western World, and and of course all my other celebrity gossip! So until then, stay happy and healthy!

Love as always,
Arlene x
